The Anglican Breviary Project: Preserving the complete and traditional Divine Office of the Western Church.

SINCE the earliest days of the Church, Christians have continually prayed the Divine Office, in which the services of Matins, Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline are said throughout the day as a means of sanctifying time to God and obeying the command to “Pray without ceasing” (I Thess. 5:17).

THE Anglican Breviary contains the only authentic English form of these ancient prayers — a direct translation of the Roman Breviary “put into English in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer.”

Collect for All Saints:

ALMIGHTY GOD, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and fellowship, in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord: grant us grace so to follow thy blessed Saints in all virtuous and godly living; that we may come to those unspeakable joys, which thou hast prepared for those who unfeignedly love thee.  Through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.  Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.  AMEN.
